SuCCESS (Sustainable Castor Caring for Environmental & Social Standards) code, a set of environmental and social criteria which farmers must comply with in order to produce certified sustainable castor. When they are properly applied, these criteria can help to optimize the impact of castor cultivation on the environment and communities in castor oil-producing regions.SuCCESS is the first independently auditable codes for castor supported by leading companies as well as civil society organisations.
INDOCERT is one of the empanelled certification bodies to conduct SuCCESS farming and supply chain audit and certification.
Code Structure And Certification
The SuCCESS Code consists of eleven principles that outline the vision for sustainable castor production. It ensures that both management systems and governance are effectively established within the business entity. Additionally, the Code addresses key aspects of sustainable production, including good agricultural practices, soil and water management, workers’ rights and protections, and environmental management. Designed as a progressive framework, the Code guides businesses through a step-by-step journey towards achieving full compliance.
