Also, the organic philosophy has found new applications in other important sectors such as cosmetics and household detergents.INDOCERT in association with Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification (ICEA), Italy is offering Bio Eco Cosmetics Certification. Standard: The Bio-Eco-Cosmetics certification is done as per Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification (ICEA) Environment-friendly Cosmetics Standard. This standard is developed by the contribution of a scientific group including University, Consumer’s Associations, Institutions, Ethical Bank and ICEA. Objective: Objective of ICEA-certified Environmental-Friendly Cosmetics is to promote: - The use of raw materials from organic farming or from wild harvest;
- The absence of raw materials, non plant origin, considered at risk or causing allergy or irritation or clearly harmful to human health;
- The absence in the product itself and in its packaging of materials that are questionable from the environmental point of view;
- The reduction of environmental impact due to unnecessary packaging (single packages) or non-recyclable packaging.(The use of packaging made of renewable raw materials, recyclable materials or materials under returnable containers programs is encouraged);
- The production according to state-of-the-art technology and eco-compatible principles;
- The intervention on the production chain, as far as possible in order to reduce the environmental impact;
- The consumption of “real” natural cosmetics, through easy and immediate recognition of “really” natural cosmetics;
- The creation of a data base enabling operators to find organic or wild harvest raw materials and ingredients on the national territory.
