   Rainforest Alliance Certification

The Rainforest Alliance works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land - use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), an international coalition of leading conservation groups, the Rainforest Alliance works with farmers to ensure compliance with the SAN standards for efficient agriculture, protection of wildlife, biodiversity conservation, workers' rights and local communities. Farms that meet these rigorous standards are awarded the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal. SAN fosters best management practices across agricultural value chains by encouraging farmers to comply with SAN standards and by motivating traders and consumers to support sustainability. Accredited certification bodies certify farms, groups and factories that comply with SAN standards and policies.

SAN Sustainable Agriculture Standard

The objective of the standard is to encourage farms to analyze and consequently mitigate environmental and social risks caused by agricultural activities through a process that motivates continual improvement. The standard is based on the themes of environmental soundness, social equity and economic viability.Certified farms operate an environmental and social management system according to the complexity of its operation and in compliance with applicable local legislation.

SAN Group Certification Standard

The objective of the standard is to encourage group administrators to create and maintain a management system that proves to SAN authorized auditors that all group members and their member farms comply with the environmental, social, labor and agronomic contents of the SAN Sustainable Agriculture Standard through a documentation system, trained personnel and group members.

SAN/RA Chain of Custody Standard

The Chain of Custody Standard establishes the best practices that a Participating Operator shall implement during the process of transforming products from certified farms in order to assure the traceability of these products throughout the supply chain. Certified farms, group administrators, manufacturers and distributors can apply for use of the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal for products grown and sourced from certified farms. .
