Organic Farm Inspector Training

Organic agriculture in India is growing at a tremendous pace, thanks to the increased support from Central and state Governments and the efforts of NGO sector. The world trade in organic products is also growing at a healthy pace of 15 to 20%. The government of India and the state governments have included organic farming in their current plan.

INDOCERT was established to provide quality inspection and certification services at affordable rates. Our quest for competency in certification has resulted in achieving Indian NPOP and EN 45011/ ISO 65 accreditations. INDOCERT now undertakes certification work as per EU organic standards and issues certificates in India. INDOCERT is the first and the only National certification body listed by FoodPLUS (www.eurep.org) for EUREPGAP certification. INDOCERT offers inspections for Naturland and BIO SUISSE standards. INDOCERT is under contract for doing inspections for bio.inspecta and FLOCert in India. Our training programmes for trainers have been received very well.

Organic Farm Inspector courses include instruction on the certification process, organic standards - Indian NSOP, EU (Regulation EEC 2092/91) and USDA NOP, how to inspect organic farms, on-farm processing, procedure for inspections for group certification with ICS, record keeping requirements, risk assessment, investigative skills, report writing, and ethics. Inspection field trips are taken in small groups and each attendee completes a written inspection report. A satisfactory score on the written assignment and written test are required to earn a Certificate of Completion. Successful candidates will be offered part time inspector position with INDOCERT.

INDOCERT being an Inspection and Certification agency, can only provide information on certification requirements, but not on HOW to produce organically.
